Nothing But Net

ATLANTA, GA.- - Jeff Gordon made an appearance on "Inside The NBA" in the TNT studio with Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson during halftime of the Toronto-Dallas game on Thursday, March 7. Gordon talked with Barkley who offered to take out Tony Stewart for him and they shared a laugh about that. Barkley asked him about the Daytona 500 being the big race at the start of the year and if he's more focused on wins or the championship. Gordon said that wins are important along the way, but a championship is the ultimate goal. He noted that he's won about every five races, so it's been awhile since his last trip to victory lane. Though one of the NBA's all time greats, Barkley is an avid NASCAR fan. Gordon told the story of when he visited the Phoenix Suns locker room shortly after winning the 1994 Brickyard 400. He didn't think anyone would know who he was, but Barkley immediately took notice of the driver who had recently won the first race at the famed Indiana track. In Gordon's second segment he was asked to take a shot at the in studio basketball hoop. Gordon stepped out to the free throw line, took a few steps to the right, and drained the shot.
